“Sarah is the BEST wedding photographer. I am a very particular person and I only hired vendors that I got good vibes from. Sarah was very understanding of my vision and knew exactly what I wanted from her. On the BIG DAY Sarah was prompt and knew what she was doing. She worked well with my other vendors and made everyone feel so relaxed. Sarah took AMAZING pictures. I am so glad we found her.” – Sierra’s Review
Jared and Sierra’s wedding at Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki is one of my favorites for SO. MANY. REASONS. It’s not because they have amazing friends and family who were so excited and joyful (these people were the best), but also Jared and Sierra were SO THOUGHTFUL about their guests and their experiences while also doing stuff #theirownway.
All of those reasons ultimately come down to all their personal touches throughout the whole amazing day. When I first met Sierra, her brother was also there! It was at that meeting that I found out he was going to be their officiant for the day and marry his sister. I thought it was a super sweet thing to do, and also practical because Sierra and Jared didn’t want a stranger to marry them (I probably feel the same way).
What I also didn’t realize until the day of is how big of a Disney fan Sierra is! The bridesmaids all had adorable Disney Mickey ears and Sierra’s beautiful wedding dress was also what I think Cinderalla dreams are made of.
My most favorite Disney detail was at their reception in Halekulani’s ballroom. Instead of table numbers, they opted for Disney characters or symbols like Simba or Genie’s lamp. So instead of a table captain releasing tables to get food, they had to listen for a song from the movie on their table to know when it was their turn to be released. It was HILARIOUS to watch adults and kids listen to intensely to Disney songs and wonder what the heck the song is haha.
Last but certainly not least, instead of having a dance floor, they surprised their guests with a CASINO NIGHT on the other half of their ballroom. Yes you heard me right. There were black jack tables, roulette tables, and of course poker tables. It was awesome to watch everyone’s faces as they realized something was on the other side of the ballroom wall that was coming down and then the cheers as people crowded around the tables.
So crazy thoughtful because all they wanted to do was let the people they love have a *bomb ass* time. Just a wonderful reminder that you can have a day with everyone that still reflects who you are.
